About these courses

Easter is well known as the time for students to vastly improve on the points that they will receive in their Summer Exams. To help students take advantage of this valuable time, The Dublin School of Grinds runs intensive exam-focused Easter Revision Courses every year.

The sole purpose of these courses is to maximise students’ exam grades. To help students achieve this, our teachers have specially designed these comprehensive courses to cover all the key areas of their subjects. Mastering these areas will give students the grounding and knowledge they need to achieve top marks.

Students who attend these courses will also receive:

» 90 minutes of intensive tuition per day for five days with Ireland’s leading teachers.
» Comprehensive study notes.
» Access to a free supervised study room.
» A focus on simple shortcuts to raise students’ grades.
» Strategies to exploit the critically important marking scheme.

Course dates

Each course runs for five days (90 minutes per day). An extensive range of course options are available over a two-week period to cater for students timetable needs. Courses are held over the following weeks:

» Monday 26th March – Friday 30th March

Finally students will receive a set of notes containing all keyword definitions on the course which are an important part of the exam paper.

5th Year English

The English courses focus on building the techniques that the examiner expects you to be able to both use and analyse. You will be confident that you have our formula, with which to navigate the probable exam questions.
This course focuses on firstly building an awareness of what the examiner wants and then providing the confidence to be able to supply it. It is a myth that English can’t be trained for.

Michael Ruaidhri Deasy 6th Year English Grinds in DublinAbout the Teacher: Michael Ruaidhrí Deasy is the Head English teacher at The Dublin School of Grinds. He has been an advisor to some of Ireland's leading textbook publishers regarding the new English Syllabus, and has worked for The State Examinations Commission. In recent Leaving Certificate results, 36% of Michael Ruaidhrí's students achieved an A1. Nationwide, this figure was just 4%. This can be explained by his ability to teach English as a formula that every student can follow, eliminating the air of mystery, and sometimes confusion, around the subject and its marking scheme.

5th Year Irish

This course will cover all aspects of paper 1 & 2. Students will receive notes on the composition, focusing on likely essay titles that could appear in Paper 1. Exam-focused notes on all parts of Paper 2 will be provided, covering the most likely questions, which could appear in June. Finally, students will be given a plan for both papers in the exam. It will focus on simple shortcuts to get a higher grade and also how to avoid the common mistakes that are made on exam day.
