Note 1: Students who attended a subject for a previous Free Course are unable to sign up to a Free Revision Course in that particular subject. However, students can attend any other 3 subjects.

Note 2: These courses will book out, so early booking is crucial.

English

This course is built on the fact that almost half of all the questions students will be answering on is material that they have never seen before. Students will receive fully worked notes and past paper examples of the most popular questions. All notes place a heavy emphasis on the value of understanding the marking scheme, and on using that knowledge to write a well-structured answer for the examiner.

Gavin CowzerAbout the teacher: Gavin Cowzer is regarded as a leading English teacher in this country. Having developed a passion for this subject, including obtaining a Master’s degree, Gavin’s teaching style is focused on covering the syllabus in a concise way, so that students have the tools to successfully manage the likely exam questions. His experience correcting exams gives his students an edge in a subject which is often assumed to be an art. However it is clear that there is a strict science behind doing well in the English exam and Gavin’s students will be guided by this little-known fact.

Irish

This course is designed with the key objective of making this exam more approachable for students through developing universal answers which will cover them for any question which may appear in June. Students will learn about the “exam day plan”, highlighting the DO’s and DON’Ts for exam day, focusing on simple techniques that they can use to raise their grade.

About the teacher: Séadhan Perry is specialised in providing students with a clear, fundamental understanding of the syllabus and marking scheme. His teaching style is focused on covering the curriculum in a concise way, so that students have the tools to successfully manage the likely exam questions.

Séadhan is a popular teacher due to his ability to stimulate students' interest in the subject.

Maths

By the time you leave this course you will have a host of past and likely exam questions, including fully worked solutions. You will benefit greatly from a set of notes called ‘The Holy Grail’, which outlines how to take advantage of the marking scheme. Note: Students will also receive our teacher’s predictions for Junior Certificate 2019.

About the Teacher: Having worked for the State Examination Commission, Carl brings his reputation as an authority on the Maths Syllabus to The Dublin School of Grinds. As a member of the Irish Mathematics Teachers' Association, he is a popular teacher amongst students due to his mastery of the Project Maths Syllabus, and is well-known for his ability to stimulate students' interest in Maths.

Science

This course will ensure students get the most marks possible in tricky, but common exam questions. All notes are complete with every past paper question.

About the Teacher: David Lewis' ability to relate to students, engaging with them in ways that put students at ease, results in his students gaining a greater understanding of the Science syllabus. As an examination corrector, David is adept at understanding the mistakes for which students frequently lose marks. He is the author of several sample examination papers.
